Made for Mac
ScreenToast records your actual app on your Mac — real clicks, real data, your own voice — and polishes it for you: zooms on every click, a calm cursor, captions and narration. Proof a mock-up can't give.

Why real footage
Generated promos show screens that don't exist, flows nobody clicked and data that isn't real. A ScreenToast demo is your actual app, your actual clicks and your own voice — the proof a mock-up can't give. And if you're making an AI video anyway, it still needs real footage to start from. Record it here.
Who it's for
Founders
A demo you can put in the launch post, the investor update and the top of your homepage. Record it between meetings and it still looks like you hired someone.
Video editors
The zooms, the cursor and the framing are already done before you import. Export a ProRes master and spend your time on the parts that actually need you.
Product launchers
The same take becomes the launch video, the vertical clip and the square post — each one properly framed, not squeezed into a shape it was never shot for.
The flow
Most screen recorders hand you a raw file and a timeline. ScreenToast hands you a finished demo, then lets you change your mind about any part of it.
01 — YOU
Whole display, one window, or an area locked to the shape you publish in. Camera, mic and system audio if you want them.
02 — AUTO
The zooms get placed where you clicked, a flurry of clicks becomes one smooth move, and the cursor stops jittering.
03 — AUTO
ScreenToast writes a script from what you did on screen and reads it aloud in a voice you choose. Or use your own.
04 — YOU
One recording, every shape you need. Wide, vertical or square, saved straight to your Mac.
While you record
The things you cannot fix later — the shape of the frame, what's on screen behind you — are the ones ScreenToast sorts out before you hit record.
01 — AREA RECORDING
Crop a wide recording down to a vertical clip and you throw away most of the picture — and you can never get it back. ScreenToast holds your selection to the shape you're posting in, so what you record is what you publish.
02 — CAMERA
Your camera sits in a neat circle wherever you want it — and when your cursor heads its way, it slides to another corner so it never covers what you're showing. For vertical video, ScreenToast can stack your face above the screen.
Auto Polish
ScreenToast pays attention to what you did, not just what the screen looked like. Every click, every pause, every drag — that's how it knows where the interesting moments are.
03 — SMART ZOOM
ScreenToast notices where you clicked and how long you lingered, then zooms in on the moments worth looking at. Six quick clicks in the same corner become one smooth move, not six jolts.
04 — CURSOR
Other tools tidy up your cursor while you record, which leaves the pointer visibly trailing behind your clicks. ScreenToast waits until you've finished and smooths the whole path at once — so the movement is calm and the click still lands exactly on the button.
05 — FOLLOW CURSOR
Hold a zoom while you drag a slider, move a card across a board or scroll a long page, and the frame follows the pointer instead of sitting still and losing it off the edge.
06 — THE LOOK
Drop your recording onto a gradient, a plain colour or one of your own photos, then sit it inside a MacBook or iMac. Everything stays razor sharp, right up to 4K.
In the editor
ScreenToast never touches your original recording. Everything you change sits on top of it, so there's no such thing as a decision you can't take back — today or six months from now.
07 — PRIVACY
Drag a blur over an email address, a customer's name or a password field. It sticks to the thing it's covering, so when a zoom moves the picture the blur goes with it.
08 — TITLES
Open with your product name and close with where to find you. Adding an intro later never knocks any of your zooms out of place.
09 — TIMELINE
Drag the ends in to trim, speed up the part where you're just waiting for something to load, mute anything you don't want. The sound stays in step with the picture instead of sliding out three seconds later.
When you publish
10 — VOICEOVER
Talk while you record and ScreenToast cleans up your mic and turns your words into captions, word by word, on your Mac. Rather not talk? It writes narration from what you did on screen and reads it aloud in a voice you choose.
11 — EXPORT
Switch from wide to vertical and ScreenToast re-frames the picture instead of chopping the sides off. The crop follows the action, so the thing you're demonstrating stays in shot.
New in 0.2
The biggest update yet, free for everyone. Full changelog
Your words, transcribed on your Mac. Delete a word to cut it. Remove every "um" and tighten long pauses in one click.
Four styles, karaoke included, revealed line by line or word by word. Save them as an .srt file too.
ScreenToast reads the recording for API keys, tokens, email addresses and card numbers and covers every one, even as it scrolls. You review what it found.
Remove the room behind you, on your Mac. Bubble, side by side or camera only — switch part-way through. Twelve colour looks, or your own LUT.
Auto from your clicks, Manual on one spot, Follow that travels with your pointer, and a Glass Loupe that magnifies just a lens.
Export a looping GIF, a Web MP4 that starts playing at once, or a file without audio — then copy it straight to your clipboard.
Play every stretch of typing at 3× with one command, and drop the silences from your take entirely.
Put your recording inside a MacBook, iMac, iPhone, iPad or a browser window, with wallpapers and gradients behind it.
Every command in one search box — add a zoom, make captions, remove filler words — without hunting through panels.
Also in the box
Stop to gather your thoughts mid-demo. The pause never shows up in the finished video — it just isn't there.
ScreenToast tells you straight away if a recording hit trouble, so you find out while you can still redo it — not an hour later.
If your Mac crashes or the battery dies, your recording is still waiting for you when you open ScreenToast again.
Stop or pause from anywhere with ⌘⇧2 and ⌘⇧1, so your demo doesn't end with you hunting for a button.
ScreenToast cleans up room hiss on your microphone and quietens the music by itself whenever someone is speaking.
Record any screen, any window, or just a corner of one. Move your mouse and ScreenToast highlights whatever you're about to pick.
ScreenToast's own windows never appear in your recording — or in a Zoom call or another app's screen share.
Your recording and every change you made are saved together. Open it next month and adjust anything — nothing is locked in.
One change is one step back. Nothing you do in ScreenToast is a one-way door.
Why native matters
Many popular recorders bundle a whole web browser inside the app, which is why they're enormous and slow to wake up. ScreenToast is a native Mac app, written with Apple's own tools.
How it compares
Most options are either a huge app you buy once or a website you rent forever. ScreenToast is the first kind, and deliberately not the second.

Questions
Three things. It's small — under 10 MB — and opens instantly. It drafts your narration from what you did on screen, instead of handing you an empty script box. And it records in the shape you're posting in, so a vertical clip is filmed vertical rather than cropped out of a wide one afterwards.
No. Recording, editing and saving all happen on your Mac. The one exception is the spoken narration: if you use it, the words you approve are sent away to be turned into speech. Your video is never part of that — only the text.
Yes. ScreenToast transcribes your own voice on your Mac — nothing is uploaded — and turns it into captions, with styles including karaoke. AI narration gets captions too.
All of it. Every zoom lands on the timeline as something you can drag, retime, soften or delete. And if you'd rather start fresh, running it again redoes its work cleanly instead of piling more on top.
MP4, HEVC or GIF in whatever shape you need. There are ready-made settings for YouTube, TikTok, Reels, LinkedIn, X, Product Hunt and the web, plus a ProRes master if you're taking it into another editor — or pick your own size. Captions can be saved as an .srt file too.
Yes, and they stay on separate tracks so you can mute or adjust each one afterwards. Your camera is kept separate too, which is what lets you move it or drop it once you've finished.
Your footage is saved as you go, not held until you press stop. Open ScreenToast again and it offers you everything up to the moment things went wrong.
No, and there isn't going to be one. ScreenToast is built specifically for the Mac, and that's exactly why it's this small and this fast. Making it work everywhere would cost the thing that makes it good.
macOS 14 or later, on any Mac from the last few years. ScreenToast asks permission to record your screen, and for your microphone and camera only if you switch them on.
Exporting is what Pro unlocks, so the first export is the paid one. Until then you can record and edit as much as you like, and the preview shows exactly what you'll get. If it still isn't right, there's a 14-day refund, no questions asked.
You keep everything. Videos you've already exported are ordinary files, and you can still record and edit in ScreenToast for free — only exporting new videos waits until you're Pro again. Cancel anytime, and Pro runs to the end of the period you've paid for.
Not from us. The voices built into macOS are free and work offline. If you want ElevenLabs voices, they use your own ElevenLabs account, so any cost is between you and them — ScreenToast adds nothing on top.
